Gala Dinner — Evening of 23 November 2026

An optional dinner will be held on the opening evening at the conference venue, overlooking Nairobi National Park. This is a separately ticketed event open to all registered participants. Gala dinner registration and pricing will be communicated separately to registered participants.

Cancellation by participants

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to conferences@africabioethicsnetwork.org

Transfer of registration

Participants who are unable to attend may transfer their registration to another individual from the same institution at no additional cost. Transfer requests must be submitted in writing no later than 10 November 2026.

Conversion to virtual participation

Participants who cannot travel due to visa delays, medical reasons, or other significant circumstances may request conversion from in-person to virtual registration, no later than 10 November 2026. Where approved, the difference in fees may be partially refunded less administrative costs. Requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Cancellation by the conference

In the unlikely event of cancellation, postponement, or conversion to a fully virtual format due to force majeure, participants will be notified as early as possible and registration fees will either be transferred to the rescheduled event or refunded in full, less any non-recoverable transaction fees. The Africa Bioethics Network will not be responsible for travel, accommodation, visa, or other personal expenses.

Processing timeline

Approved refunds will normally be processed within 30 business days. Participants are responsible for any bank transfer or currency conversion charges applied by their financial institution.

No-show policy

Participants who do not attend and have not submitted a cancellation or transfer request prior to the conference will not be eligible for a refund.

The ABN Annual Conference 2026 is open to researchers, clinicians, policymakers, ethics practitioners, community representatives, and students from across Africa and internationally. Participants from across sectors and regions are welcome.

Presenter Registration

Abstract submission does not require conference registration.

Authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to register after acceptance notifications are communicated. At least one presenting author for each accepted submission must complete conference registration by 30 September 2026 in order for the presentation to be included in the final programme.

Participants who wish to attend without submitting an abstract may register directly through the conference registration process.
